The Fraternal Order of Police is the world's largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with more than 324,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges. We are the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities. We are committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those we serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation. No one knows the dangers and the difficulties faced by today's police officers better than another officer, and no one knows police officers better than the FOP.

USSSA Team Finishes Season With 32-9 League Record
The Gastonia DirtDobbers, a little league baseball team sponsored by the Gaston County Lodge, have completed their spring-summer tournament season on a high note: finishing with an outstanding 32-9 record. The team was playing so well this year that USSSA league officials moved the DirtDobbers into an older age bracket. However, the Gastonia team continued to dominate tournament play. The team is coached by Gastonia police officers Fred McMurray (top left) and Jim Poole (top right), both members of the local lodge. They're joined on the coaching staff by Jerry Pace. The team is comprised of 11 year olds.
Support The DirtDobbers
The Gaston County Lodge is looking for community support to help the Fraternal Order of Police sponsor the Gastonia DirtDobbers in USSSA league play. For more information or to offer help, click below.

The National Fraternal Order of Police PAC is the power behind our organization's punch on Capitol Hill. It provides opportunities for all police officers to get involved and keeps the FOP at the forefront of important legislative debates in Washington. Entering the 2008 Presidential and Congressional election cycles, the NFOP PAC is working aggressively to grow its funds to help elect candidates that help make the rank-and-file law enforcement officer's voice heard. Contributions or gifts to NFOP PAC are not tax deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.

Help For Burke County Deputy
On December 11th, Burke County Sheriff's Deputy Martin Lawing was shot in the neck during a standoff with a mentally ill woman. The injury left the 31-year-old detective partially paralyzed. He remains hospitalized. The Burke County Fraternal Order of Police, along with his coworkers at the Burke County Sheriff's Department and law enforcement statewide, is raising money for Lawing and his family. Checks and money orders can be sent to the Fraternal Order of Police, c/o Martin Lawing Fund, P.O. Box 1216, Morganton, North Carolina 28680. Those sending checks should write "Martin Lawing Fund" in the memo section.
